Fisherman's Trail - Joy of Painting s28e1 - Version 2
I'm on a roll here. This is #=2 of the 4 canvases I prepared with the 'woodgrain effect' that Bob uses in his original.
In this version, I painted in a landscape mode as opposed to Bob's portrait mode. I also added the water and extended the scene to the right side of the canvas.
Here is some info I copied from my prior post describing the wood effect process:
"The wood effect background of this one really intrigued me, but I was always apprehensive to give it a shot. Well today was the day. I figured my first attempt would be a total botch job.
I was quite surprised at how easy the background is to create. The wood background took about 15 minutes to create. On a side note, I mixed up way too much brown color, so I prepared 3 more canvases of various sizes for future paintings.
I quickly found that the paint is much wetter after creating this effect, and my best course of action was to let the canvas dry for a couple days, re-apply the liquid clear, and then continue on to create the actual painting."
This was incredibly fun to paint and I am truly experiencing the 'Joy of Painting' lately.
16" x 20" canvas. As always, your comments (especially suggestions) are desired and welcome.
Everything here looks great. Your wood grain looks like a sheet of paneling. Great job
beautiful job T!Mts. are awesome
I totally thought you painted on wood planks! Great job on that background. Terrific mountains and really nice path too!
Beautifully executed in every way, Tony. Good idea to flip to landscape orientation.
Beautiful painting and awesome mountain!
