A Spectacular View - s27e7
I stretched this painting out over 7 days as I was busy this week harvesting 850 garlic from my garden. This was another really fun painting project.
I noticed that the other versions of this painting by others was evenly split between the TV version and the book version of this painting. I opted for the book version. I also changed the colors of the sky. After contemplating for a couple of days, I added a big tree on the left.
On a side note, I am realizing that I enjoy the painting process much more when I take my time, paint in spurts, and stretch out a painting over several days. I just have to make sure I paint the parts that need a wet-on-wet surface before the liquid blending medium dries.
Photo does not do the painting justice. 18" x 24" canvas. As always, your comments (especially suggestions) are desired and welcome.
Thanks bud - appreciate you ;)
Really beautiful work! Love your cabin and other details are wonderful!

Thank You Sandy and Dirk - you are appreciated :)
Very nice, Tony. Lots of color.
And I couldn't agree more on this point you made...

Ever since I abandoned the need to finish a painting in one session, I'm more relaxed and enjoy the painting process. I'll usually do the background and stop. Next session will be the mid-ground. Lastly, the foreground. If it's a simpler painting, I might be able to complete the mid-ground and foreground at one time. And it's super easy to add a little linseed oil to the canvas if reflections are needed in the water, etc. Stretching out a painting also helps minimize making mud, as the canvas is usually dry when I'm adding trees over a snowy mountain. Bonus π
Great work here, Tony. Love the mountains. Regards.
Wow love the colors! Great job! Nice painting.
Your mountains are very nice as always. Well done overall.
This looks great Tony! Everything fits beautifully!
I too like to take my time. I do stretch my session over days at times. I try to find a stopping point where I can pickup without struggling too much with what is on the canvas already. Rushing never paid off for me. Great work friend!
Thank you for the kind words Alex, Jim, Tom, Nancy. I appreciate each one of you :)
