Bob’s ‘Warm Summer Day’ is the first of 3 Miniature that I’m doing following a good response from our local Bundaberg Art Society when I took some of my recent paintings to them for an airing to seek comment and an indication of potential pricing. I left them with the 3 of my recent bird paintings and the ‘She Oak Tree’ painting hanging in their current exhibition. Their next exhibition is Miniatures (less than 16 sq “ / 100 sq cm) in July, so I am developing these 3 for that exhibition. This painting is 12.4 cm x 7.8 cm (~5x4”) painted area, in oil on 3 mm Mdf board. Not having painted at this size before, I picked a relatively easy 1 of Bob’s to start with; and without using liq white. Comments welcomed.
Nice
You kept the essence of the scene even though it's very simplistic. Great job Dave!!!
Many thanks for your comments Tomi, Cold & Nancy. Yeh, just trying to work through what types of paintings would suit such small size with my capabilities. Cheers.
