Used Bob Ross's Majestic Peaks (s18e6) as a guide. I wanted to see if I could simulate a bit more depth in the foreground by making it seem like the water is a distance from the foliage you see. In my world, we are standing on the edge of a hill looking down towards the lake. We are still several hundred yards from the lake and the hill leads down through an apple orchard on it's way to the lake. You can see the start of the orchard as you look down the hill towards the water. Not sure if I pulled it off, but that is my story and I'm sticking to it. As Bob often says, it's my world ;)
It looks great and I see the distance. Maybe a little meandering path that fades away in the distance would also help. Good job!
Mountains and your foothills look great too!
