I've always wanted to try this painting. It is one of the more challenging Bob Ross paintings. In general, I'm happy with the way it turned out. I wished I could have gotten the sky color a bit brighter near the lighthouse. I also feel like the front waves have too much light color near the top of them.
Thanks for the follow up Caylakes. I agree the method Bob Ross used for the waves in Night Light was different from later techniques he employed. I think the later method was much more effective. I checked out your painting of Night Light by Day. Absolutely awesome colors in that one and I really like the way your waves turned out.
One of my favorite paintings by Bob. Yours looks amazing. The light house is great.

I think you did a great job on this painting, especially the detail on the structures. As for the waves, this one of Bob’s early paintings. In later seasons he totally changed his methodology for making the waves. In this episode he says to put paint on the front of each wave. In later seasons he says to leave the wave fronts dark and blend backward from the wave crests. I did a version of this painting (which I called Night Light by Day) and changed the style of the water to that of Bob’s later paintings. It’s on TIB if you want to see what I’m talking about. Anyway, great job on this challenging painting!
