Night Light

dracula 27 Apr 2024

I ended up using only the paints left on my palette from my recent pink sunset painting (If I had waited much longer they would have dried out too much). I think the only color on the palette that matched Bob's selection was a little bit of Alizarin Crimson. Everything else was different. I've often suspected that it doesn't make much difference to me which colors I use as long as I have, at least, something near the three primaries and some kind of white. I think the results for me would have been similar either way.

You're right, it matters not. Every painting you do Dracula is always your own style. There's a particular feel of foreboding in this one. I can almost see a tattered sailing ship approaching Whitby harbour, carrying the dark lord himself. Great job.

💯 agree with TLP! Great painting as always!

Wonderfully moody--well done!

I like the impasto sky!

Great painting, cheers

The mood here is spot on. Amazing lighthouse and as always the lighting is perfection.
