I cant tell you enough how challenging this one was to me. The path gave me a migraine. I can’t get the paint to break. I know it is just like the mountains highlights & shadows but the angle that I had to hold the knife to slide it side-to-side was impossible tonight. I definitively need more practice for sure. The puddles were easy to do. It’s just like doing reflections in the waters.
I don’t really like the bottom left of my painting but I learn so much thru out this journey. Lots and lots of happy accidents in this one! 🤓
🚨 PAINTING UNDATE 🚨
I have modified my painting (see picture attached for final version). I removed some foliage & made the tree trunk go all the way up to the top of the canvas. I believe this outcome is much better.
It's really pretty!
Gorgeous! Good job!
This is wonderful and you really nailed that path! I love the color of it and the light popping on the left side foliage and puddle!
Very pretty!
Wow! I think you really nailed it. I actually love the bottom left section. And the puddles and path look great. I can see how much effort you put into this. Very complex painting. Great job!
Thanks Jos. You are right, I like it better today.
Thank you so much Sandy, Pam & KCulliton. 🥰
Brian, I am happy that you like my path. I remade about 4 times.
Thank you Matt! I actually spent 14 hours nonstop working on it. I thought it would be a practice painting when I saw my path and the left fillings. But I kept working on it and improved it. At the end, I was kinda happy with the result after so much struggle. But as I said I. My description, I learned lots thru my happy accidents. I will be remaking this one at some point. I love the challenges that Bob’s paintings bring me. I only started painting 2 months ago. Lots of improvements to make.
I already loved this one but tweaking your tree trunk really worked out great! I love it all the more!
