An original using BR wet on wet techniques from a NASA image. Liquid black, Liquid clear were used on a black canvas. Natural sponge for the red arms. 1inch/2 inch brush used for the galaxy core. 1 inch brush and liquid white for "flicked" stars. Knife and liner brush for main star in lower right.
Galaxy paintings are never easy, you did a great job here.
Suprisingly how well the liquid white reacted on the liquid clear base, normally that does give trouble!
I will remember the trick for that main star!
What kind of trouble? I had to do the stars three times.. its a fine line of too wet and the dots of paint start to spread into rings.. vs chunks of paint which stick up :D I ended up with liquid white and titanium white blend.. about 60/40.. paint to liquid white with a SMALL amount on the tip of the brush then pull back and flick it
That was the troube I was talking about! Glad you found a workable solution to it!
It is impressive! I really miss starry sky! Thanks for your wonderful painting to brings stars closer!
Yeah.. the liquid clear is definitely interesting to work with.. another item note is if you get just a bit too much, your paint will slide off the canvas :/ I caught it in time and was able to lay the painting flat to stop that mishap
