Another Stephen conway tutorial, currently my favourite you tube artist. A lesson i have been learning recently is that you don't necessarily have to follow the composition fully, i wish i had left off the whatever that is on the left as it spoils the painting
Lovely scene! I like the fly fisherman. I checked out the Stephen Conway YouTube video and he described the area on the left as a ramp which I assume is a boat launch. I like Dracula’s idea to convert it to a rocky land mass if you’re not satisfied.
Thanks for the Conway tip, I hadn’t run across him until now. Lots of interesting paintings.
Thanks for the kind words, i will def do something with the "ramp" as it just doesn't look right. Glad you took the time to check out Conway, he's the perfect tutor for novice artists i think you would agree.

Looks very cool; the color and the motion of the water is great. As far as that area on the left, it's probably not too late to go back in and convert it to a foreground landmass, maybe with some rocks. It seems perfectly position in my reading of the composition. It'd be a bravery test for sure. Nice work!
