Safe & Warm
Oil on Canvas 2025
By Parsons

There’s something comforting to me about a cabin tucked deep in the snow-covered woods—especially when it’s glowing with warmth from within. With Safe and Warm, I wanted to capture that feeling of quiet solitude and the simple peace that comes from being surrounded by nature. The moonlight felt like a gentle presence, casting a soft halo over everything, while the warm light spilling from the cabin suggests safety, rest, and a place to belong.

Thanks Cliff!

Good morning my friend, super inviting your cabin . It conveys a lot of warmth in the cold. Great footprints. Super work, Bob👍🏼🇩🇪🔪

Thank you my friend!

The moonlight is incredible Bob and can I just say I love the way you describe it
Super work as always Bob! Nice!

Thanks Eduardo!

Always a bit awkward having more than one light source but you managed it well. Love the glow by the door of the cabin.

Nicely done Bob ✌️

Thanks Landscaper. I know what you mean. I put a little bit more Indian yellow into the porch glow. I’ll let the paint cure a few days and give it the squint test in direct light to see if I need a little more.

Thanks Brian!

Never heard of the squint test. Apart from the squint test I use on my hubby when I ask if I can use his credit card for shoe shopping. If he squints I know I'm pushing my luck 😆

lol. If you squint (barely open your eyes) you can see the values better. Especially helpful with clouds and light. Sandy taught me this when I first started. I use it all the time now.

omg Bob I just tried the squint test and it works, i'm definitely trying on my next painting - never thought of such a simple thing! Awesome advice!

Oh this is so good.. so cozy.

Thanks Stephie!

Love your moonglow!

Thanks Kerri!
