This is a commission I did for some friends of their farm during the summer! Once I stopped fretting over making a carbon copy, I felt so much better.
This is my second time doing clouds, and the picture was complicated. I guessed from the clouds I did in Golden Phoenix River that painted over.
Overall, I'm happy with this one. I also have not painted a fence like that before, and I'm very happy with how it turned out. Palette knives win the day again!
Yes! That is exactly it! I am really happy to finally feel more comfortable and just let go. I feel like that is a big lesson that painting taught me :)
That's why I like Bob so much. He always says he teaches us the technique and that the point isn't to just copy all he does. And the way he takes mistakes as happy accidents and encourages to just go for it and that you can fix anything you don't like... It really helped me to relax while painting and just try different things and see what happens.

Yay! Happy to hear that someone is like me when decided to stop making copy and felt better! I had the same feeling! Even when I painted outside and did the same it made me very happy that I can transform reality in the ART!
