Painting # 92. I migrated my painting operation to my garage and finally painted outside for the first time today. It was tough trying to find the right lighting but it was a pleasant experience (until the shade crept in and along with it, the mosquitos). However, I walked inside to get some water and, when I came back out, my easel + painting were face down in the dirt due to the wind. So, there's some sand stuck in the painting, but what are you gonna do. This is another deep woods painting with a gesso underpainting and the titanium white to create sun rays. It's a bit of a series I have going as they're quite simple and pleasant to paint. I also recently purchased a few new brushes and a cadmium green paint I was interested in trying out for that background. 18x24.
AHHHHHHH SH--T!!!! That would have been my words. Looking good....Love the su beams

So, in other words, you've got REAL sand in that shoreline. That's why it looks so authentic. Kidding. I'm not sure I would've been so calm had I discovered my painting face down in the dirt. Anyway, it turned out great. Neat lighting.
