This is painting # 59. I painted this one directly after "valley view" since I had a lot of nice paint left over on my palette. I bought a value pack of smaller 12x16 canvases for such an occasion as I really don't like scraping off and wasting paint. I've tried preserving left over paint a few ways but it always dried out. Overall, this painting was really loose and fun. I tried to just improvise and have a good time with it. I've also been practicing my cabins on my palette, mostly to improve my angles and perspective. Practicing on the palette is a good idea as you can just scrape it off and start over. I did the same thing with evergreens a little while ago. This painting took me around 30 minutes from start to finish and I must have spent around 20 minutes after that adding a bunch of limbs to the tree. I actually laid the canvas down on my table and supported my elbow on my knee to paint the limbs. I found it to be much easier than having my shaky arm hanging in the air. The canvas size is 12x16.

Wow such an interesting way for painting the limbs! I did not think I am missing support as i paint on the table. It is a great theory to check! Thanks for sharing!
