Quiet Morning at the Maas

joha59 30 Jul 2024

The scene is taken from a picture (photo from R. Maas with the title "Stille morgen aan de Maas" (Quiet morning at the Maas) and it was a good excercise in blending and painting trees, I didn't want to make it too difficult on a hot summer day, on canvasboard 30 x 24 cm.

Super nice,JosπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‡©πŸ‡ͺ

What a peaceful and soothing image. Beautiful!

You did great with the blending and you achieved plenty of distance. Your tree looks very natural and suits the rest of the painting. Love it!

Great blending and depth Jos πŸ‘βœŒοΈ

I just noticed your ducks out for a swim, perfect addition JosπŸ‘βœŒοΈ

This looks like peace

Lovely

So serene and peaceful! Gorgeous!

Thank you Dirk, Kerri, Helen (for your kind and motivating words), Brian (for discovering the ducks, which were already in the original picture/photo), Tammy, Cold and Sandy!

very peaceful calming scene

Thank you very much Jeff!

Stunning!!

Very nice. I like that misty mood here.

Thank you Stephanie and Tom!

Quiet morning indeed. I love it.
I can feel the chill of early morning, with a subtle mist floating across the water. Makes me want to sit there and watch the duckies on their morning patrol, quietly quacking at eachother.

Blending to make a very soft foggy look can be quite the challenge imho.: quite the risk of mixing all the colours together. Dirtying up those peach and yellowish colours with the blue is soooooo easy.
But you managed well. <3

Wow Jos! That's a beautiful and soothing scene! Love the pastels! Well done my friend!

Thank you very much for your kind words Titia and Ninoum, uh I mean, how was it, Nancy of course, haha!

Love it, Jos! Simple elegance.

Thank you Jon!
