It seems so simple when seeing Bill Alexander painting this picture on this tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pAj4x8trp5E, but the bushes and trees were not so easy for me. Tried to use a bigger brush then normally. Skipped the last part when Bill just throws his knife on the canvas with natural sticks as result. This will not work on canvasboard (40x30 cm), because the surface is to stiff. Struggled with the waterlines, also more difficult on canvasboard because of the hard surface.
GREAT WORK j!
Fantastic mountains and water and reflections and wild trees and bushes! awesomely done!
look good, nice and soft, good depth. Yes I agree, Bill makes it look easy but recreating his touch is difficult so i would call this an achievement. It seems Bills paintings are always "less is more"
Thank you all, you don't know that I was very close to scrape the whole thing away. But after some thinking and watching and let time go over I did it only with the bushes on the left and repainted this part, now I can live with it!
I did not catch this was on a board. I cannot imagine how difficult it may have been due to the difference in reaction to the brushes and knife as compared to a canvas. I think that is even a greater feat to get this outcome. Congrats
Thanks Kevin. The last time used stretched (cheap) canvas, there were lines in the paint to see from the wooden frame of the canvas. So I had for this one choosen for canvasboard.
