Golden Vignette - Buck Paulson

joha59 24 Jul 2023

I started this painting, following the tutorial of Buck, with a thin layer of liquid clear, but soon I had to wipe it all away; it was much too smooth, because of the acrylic underground of orange and a little green, my lesson learned: acrylic paint is no gesso. It was a challenge to use complete different colors in this seascape, on canvasboard 30 x 24 cm.

That’s the next one from Buck I planned. I wished you had asked me before, I would have told you not to use that clear.
The trick is to thin the paint a bit with clear right on the brush.
I feel you rescued well though.

Really pretty!

Thank you Tom (I saw Buck put medium on his brush, but did not know why, now I know) and Sandy.

Nice work Jos👍🏼🇩🇪

Thank you Dirk und Grüße aus den kalten und nassen Niederlanden
