Original Creation

Naches Peak Meadow

ironchefmitty 28 Sep 2022

This painting was inspired by a recent trip to Mt Rainier National Park. My wife and I hiked in an alpine meadow along the Pacific Crest Trail. I included elements from the last 4 Bob Ross paintings I did which included doing a lot of work with the palette knife on the foreground tree, the mid ground evergreens, and the rocks in the meadow. I also used some of his techniques with the script liner to do the background foliage.

Nice!.....Try to "fluff up" your clouds using a very soft brush. With respect it looks rather blocky, was it done with a knife?

Yup! This cloud was done purely with the knife. I thought of maybe just doing some circular motions here and there to add movement to it, but decided not to because I liked the somewhat blocky parts of the cloud to contrast with the rounded rolling hills of the painting.

Thank you for the feedback though :)
