I am hoping one of our great acrylic painters can give me a honest opinion on this in progress acrylic work. I am finding acrylics much more difficult to work with and just can't figure out what is going wrong here. Are there alot more layers than oils? Very confused.
Even I did some acrylics paintings I am not a real expert. My knowledge about watercolors and oils is much better.
I feel it is very hard to create soft edges and blending with acrylics. Maybe there are some media which influence the drying time.
Layers are easy to achieve as they dry. But my experience shows that very watery (cheap) paintis do not work well though. I think it needs some practice as everything does. I hope an acrylics expert can give you more hints...
get hammi on the case! they're the resident acrylic WoW expert! good luck, you're off to a good start.
Your sky is great, for blending either the dry brush technique ( minimum paint) or use a slow drying medium, W&N do a good one for not much brass and I've found it very helpful in acrylics, also watch Kevin Hill videos on YouTube, he is excellent with acrylics.
Hey Tomi, Check Hammipaint’s article. It will help with some of your issues.

Looks good. I have dabbled a few times with acrylics too, but get frustrated with it drying out, and not being able to blend when needed.
