Even though it was 93°F/34°C here today, I am glad to have finished this frosty winter scene I've been working on. It is 14"x11" on canvas-laminated panel. I used an oil-transfer technique to get my sketch onto the panel. It worked better than I expected.
In case anyone is wondering about the oil transfer, it involves scanning/printing your drawing at the canvas size (you could print it tiled and piece it together if it is larger than your printer), painting the back of the paper with an oil paint in your color of choice. Then you can tape it on top of the canvas (painted side down) and use a ball-point pen to go over the lines, which will transfer onto the canvas. I then went in and painted all the lines black (about a week later) before blocking in my colors.
Great perspective!
Love this. I don't know why but this reminds me of snow white and the 7 dwarves, in a good way.
This is fantastic - so different for you I would have never guessed it was yours! Thank you for sharing the oil transfer method - very cool. I may have to try that on an appropriate piece. I wonder - could you just paint the canvas, tape on your printed design, and then trace? Does it work better if you paint ON the paper? Regardless, your final result is great. I love the multitude of colors without being overwhelming or disconnected.
Very nice painting, but not wanna live there so close to each other!
Love the perspective on this one! It's really nice! But gotta say, just like Jos, I'd prefer a bit more distance to my neighbour 🤣 well done!
Really nice! Some great rhythms in there
Amazing Darc! Such an eye catcher! Great compo!
Great technique to transfer the sketch, I really like the colors and shading.
