This is a small 7"x10" study of E.T. Compton's "The Matterhorn," which was painted sometime between 1870 and 1919. One thing that I thought was cool was that in the original there are some teeny-tiny little mountaineers climbing in the image. Even though my study is very small, I went ahead and added them into my copy, too.
Stunning painting. Love the colours and the mood they evoke. Recognisably the Matterhorn. Great job.
This looks really great I love the clouds behind the mountain and the mountain, the whole thing looks really cool.
Awesome...
Fantastic mountain and awesome painting! Love the feel of cold and rough nature. I did not find rock climbers but surely so they are there to create the effect how humans are negligible in front of nature and how easy they can be erased something goes wrong.
I found them! I did not notice additional photo! Thanks Dracula!
Dude this is so awesome! And 7x10. The mountain is incredible as all of yours are. Very cool

That is one terrific mountain - and such a small composition! Props for staying true and putting in the tiny hikers.
