This is a 12x16 inch study after Sunset over the Fjord by Adelsteen Normann. The original was painted in 1918 and is 35x47 inches. I was pleased with some passages in this painting, particularly the little houses on the left of the painting, which is nice for me since I don't typically enjoy painting structures that much.
EDIT: added detail image of houses
The sky is amazing. Great painting.
Crazy sky Drac!!Nice work.Cheers,P
Very nice. the sun reflections in the water caught my eyes first out of the whole thing.
This is a gorgeous painting Dracula! I pulled up the original since I was unfamiliar with it. I found it, but at first I thought I accidentally pulled up another picture of YOUR painting. I had to toggle back and forth to see the small differences. Excellent work!
Dracula, this is beautiful! Every aspect of it! Great job on the buildings by the way, they are so tiny but you made details there! Wow! It is super!
The sun is so warm and so beautifully done with the water reflecting its path! A++++! Fantastic job!
Thank you everyone for all of your kindness and enthusiasm! One of the most challenging parts was, surprisingly, the sun. I had to glaze in several layers of red to get it to feel both warm and bright enough.

I love this. Great work. The light on the water adds great warmth and the technique used for the sky isvery interesting.
