This is the second in the series I am working on where I paint a landscape from an old British Horror movie made by Hammer Films. This time it is: Countess Dracula (1971).
Like the previous painting in the series, this one is 16x9 inches on canvas-laminated panel. This time around, however, I did get a new supply of Maroger medium, which I do prefer to the non-lead modern equivalent Neo-Megilp. Though, the batch I received is kind of bogus (extremely liquidy). I think I might try making my own in the future.
Beautiful work!
I feel very nervous for animal. I don’t know the movie but the way that she’s staring into the wooded area makes me think she heard something disturbing and with that clearing she has no where to hide from whatever is in those woods. It’s not often that a panting tells me a story so vividly (even if I may be wrong…maybe it’s just a happy pastoral scene and I’m just dramatic 😜).
