Towards the Light 2 (Sun Light Clouds)

I love the birds

Great attempt. This is the most difficult sky to paint.
I think that dark color is a bit wrong if to compare with real thing and not photo. No camera can pull this condition well.
Try to think about adding calm purples and blues rather than simple gray to make it more artistic.

I love the idea that cloud looks like a big pigeon bird itself.

Thank you sunny lady. You are right I will have a go at correcting it. The nice thing with this medium is you can correct it. I will have a go and see what I can do. Happy Painting.

Sunny lady. I did this late last night, I have the contract and values in the dark all wrong ! Thank you for pointing that out... I will try correcting it which is some of the fun.. bit like wet on wet just scrape it off and have another go. I hope you are well. Thanks again

David one more thing that I learnt along the way about clouds painting is never using the pure white out of the tube. Make it tinted with yellow ochre and warm red like (cad red). It will create milk/ivory shade which stand super awesome against blue color of the sky.

Yes thank you sunny lady .. I sometimes use Naples yellow to tint it or sometimes don't clean the brush properly.. plenty of happy accidents here! .. Thank you for the comments and advice.. I hacked a lower contrast version with blue tinge to grey like you suggested. I prefer if. Looks much better in reality though. Thanks again happy painting.

As I said you have a great eye for value and colors! Awesome to hear that upgraded version is better. Do you plan to print it somehow?
