My first attempt at snowy painting, really enjoyed it. Loosely based on Kevin hill winter path. I like the foreground tree to the left really enjoyed learning the shading techniques and my first pine tree !! Its not finished but will detail it (finished grasses etc) at some point as per Kevin hill techniques. enjoyed this painting because I have had a break for a week or so and I really like painting snowy stuff will definitely try something else at some point.. moving onto sunlight trees as per chuck black.. I think oil over acrylic would work really well with snow type scenes like it does for increased contrast in the sunny pictures.. will keep trying ...
I still can't believe you're only painting for 2 months now!
sunny lady thank you for your comments .. I really enjoyed trying snow.. I found Kevin hill demonstrations very good and tried to follow what he said. I will add a bit more into it and repost at sometime as I think it looks a bit sparse at the moment. thanks again tase care and happy painting
Felix .. I have bought a couple of books and watched a lot of you tube videos during the last few months. I am really enjoying it having retired and still in lockdown. I wish I had found painting sooner as it is is a very relaxing pastime. I am really enjoying acrylics and oils. but definitely favour acrylics as they are more forgiving for me, easier to correct. here is to the next few months hopefully not in lockdown stay safe David
This is a really wonderful painting. There's something really comforting, whimsical, and almost magical about it. I really like those lavender hues throughout. Fantastic work!
thank you for your kind comment. my first attempt at snow. good fun will definitely try another snow picture at some point. happy painting

David, it is beautiful painting! Amazing details, shadows, highlights!
Background is nice and trees softenes create the depth. Main two characters are pine tree and big tree look like talking to each other.
