I have been trying to follow MJS techniques to paint the disused railway bridge across the fields from our house had fun. It was blown up in WWII and is now used as a theatre under the arches in the summer months. Took ages to paint the details.. onwards and upwards
thanks I am pleased you like it .. still working on technique bur having fun that's the main thing !! happy painting
Very nice, clouds are perfect and the whole thing is beautiful, I can almost feel the mossies biting me!!
thanks Nikek1971.. hadn't really taken much notice of the clouds just been painting greens !!... fortunately we don't get to many mosses in the uk ... anyway thanks for the support .. happy painting to you .. keep up the great work
Try telling my legs that! I'm in East Anglia and I'm always getting bitten!
oh blimey .. I will watch out for them .. I must have been lucky so far .. pleased to hear you are from the UK great paintings !!
Buckingham must be a mosquito free zone ! famous last words !! :)
nice reflections.great work
I think the sky and reflections are great. The MJS technique takes longer but yields a very realistic result. I always find the images lose some of the detail when uploaded but it still looks great.
Pretty realistic, keep up the good work!
As usual wonderful values David! I think MJS is not the style for everyone, but following closely can produce a great result to those who dare to attempt. I am saying this because I am not the one to attempt. This is scary technique to me and I am always impressed what people show here with his methods!
Great job!
Thank you Pietro.. enjoyed the challenge
rah.. you are definitely right the technique takes a long time but its fun.. I find it relaxing
rah thank you for your support and comments
thank you not ross... just look at you amazing paintings.. keep up your great work
Sunnylady as always that you for your very kind comment.. I agree..its a bit of a challenge .. keep up your great work .. I am still enjoying trying different things and styles .. I hope you are too.. painting is a great hobby .. thank you covid !! onwards and upwards .. actually trying a Bob Ross painting ! god forbid :)
wife didn't like third arch so stuck a tree in front of it !! messed with reflections a bit as well .. enough next painting I think !
Looks great David. Good on you for trying new techniques on out-of-lesson paintings. It looks like you are capturing them pretty well.
@David - nice coverup with that tree. I think it made painting better because it split the boring rhythm of the same arches and pushed it back a bit.
Thank daveJ I am enjoying trying different things .. will keep trying to improve it
Thanks sunny lady .. I think wife was right too... Wives are always right aren't they ! :) Happy painting
