The idea was a relaxing spot on a slow river under a tree, I wanted to make some soft mountains and a couple of distant evergreens but I think I had to mistify the base of the mountains a bit more and make the layers more distinct. I still have trouble with the highlits of bushes and trees. Maybe I have to thin down the color a bit and also the bank of the river is way too strong so maybe I can make it directly with a loosely blended light color and not by making such thick layers of paint. I like the way the tree trunk came.

Hi Bizzram, Don't be afraid of colour or your paintings will look washed out, the six small peaks would look better reduced to three or four big ones when painting portrait aspect.
The mountains look neither distant (too dark) nor close (no detail) , The tree line in the middle ground looks rather muddy, again add a little detail to the closer ones and graduate the level of detail as they get further away.
If your paint isn't sticking thin it out a little, remember Bobs golden rule " you need the dark in order to see the light"....Don't cover up all the dark as it is there to show separation.
The river bank is way too light, dumb it down using a little sienna, and add some waterlines and ripples .
The reflections should be as bright as the object being reflected., ,pull down the colour and brush gently across., ....Hope these few tips are helpful !!....Enjoy your new hobby 😉
