To keep my head clear off what's going on in the world tried to recreate Lowell Speers' anemone poppies tutorial. I very much like it how it turned out even though I had a much smaller canvas available so it's not so much detailed as the original
(And I got to try out my new easel I built with a cardboard box and some tape🤪)
This is good. The flowers really pop against that dark background. I've tried a couple of Lowell's tutorials and its not as easy as he makes it look. Well done.
Thank you, paintingblondie!
Thank you TheLandscapePainter! I did watch the whole episode before I started painting it myself and where Lowell did things in 1 stroke I sweated on it for ages
I know that feeling, I ponder for ages even before I start. It's daft really, probably best to just go for it. I'm still at that newbie stage where I'm frightened to get it wrong because I'm not confident I can correct it. Making corrections is a skill in itself. My hubby says I need to get over myself and practice more often.
