I just wanted to have some fun, paint a little and maybe try some tips I read about creating depth and distance in paintings. I played with different colors and clouds in the sky. I tried to put more details in the foreground mountain and used stronger colors for it. I mixed a dark color for the foothils and added a lot of white for the furthest, a little white for the middle and none for the first line of hills. I think the back ones are a bit too light compared to the mountains. I wanted to add some big trees in front but ran out of space - this canvas is only 30x40 cm (no idea how many inches that is 😉).
Any tips to improve the depth? 🤔
Thank you Boof. That's indian yellow mixed with titanium white. Shadows are purple (alizarin crimson + prussian blue), all left over from painting ocean sunrise 😉
Very nice sky and mountains. As far as depth and distance, Sunnylady wrote a very good and useful article detailing that aspect. You can look it up in community articles.
that golden mountain is marvelous
Impressive mountains, feels sorry for the mountain climbers there :-)

Wow this is so pretty. I love the little bit of yellow you added to that front mountain- totally brings the painting together. I will have to try sometime.
