3/11/23 - Western Peaks - Nic Hankins
Nic's Version attached.
Decided to try another Nic Hankins painting today. I chose this because of the brown mountain and the lots of green foliage, both elements where I need to get better.
The evergreens gave me an issue. I tried to paint upstanding needle vs droopy needle and this was only the 2nd time I tried this. I had to go over them a couple times before they looked half decent, so they appear a bit full to my eye. I still need to work on the dark space that differentiates the bushes. Even though Nic's bushes are crowded, they have real definition, whereas mine are a bit crowded.
This seems to be just a bit more complex than a Bob 1/2 hour show painting, but that is only because Nic takes just over an hour and has the extra time.
Had trouble getting a decent picture on this one. The painting is better than the picture looks.
18" x 24" canvas. As always, your comments and suggestions (especially suggestions) are welcome.
Wow awesome! Mountain is fabulous and the trees and bushes are so beautiful, especially love the one in front with orange foliage!
Beautiful
Very nice version Tony!
Beautiful Tony! Those mountains look great!
Great colors!
I love Nic’s tutorials. He always got me to paint so well. I hope to do classes with him in a near future.
