Winter tree - Nil Rocha

Tom0779 19 Feb 2025

Due to medical reasons I am not able to paint currently. The problem affects the thumb on my right hand, which prevents me from holding brushes or pens for longer.
I didn’t paint anything new since end of October 24. I still have dozens of unshared pictures like this one. A very simple and moody winter tree with some character. Done after a video by Nil Rocha. Check out his YouTube channel if you are interested in this painting style. It is a combination of water colors and ink.
I painted this on arches cotton paper in postcard size.

This looks wonderful Tom! Best wishes for a speedy recovery!

Hé Tom, good to see something from you, wish you all the best, especially for the thumb and hope you can pickup the brush again soon, I miss your Bill inspiration!!

Very unique looking tree Tom, good to see something from you my friend ✌️

Hoping you are on the mend and will be back to painting in no time! Excellent branch work and perfect for a winter composition.

Get well soon Tom - I enjoy your work.

Pretty cool.

I hope you get well soon! You are very talented, so I hope you can continue painting!

Love this!

I am sorry to hear this my friend😪. I feel your pain, as I am also suffering in my right arm. It went numb in 2023/24 and I finally had neck spine surgery to correct the problem. The feeling in my arm returned although now I suffer from moderate-severe tendinitis resulting in me painting a lot less often than I would like. It seems a cruel twist of fate to happen to an artist. I am hopeful that you will gain back the use of your painting hand. I have always enjoyed your work! For now, I look forward to seeing more of your un-shared watercolors.

Thank you everyone for visiting my painting and leaving a comment. Thanks also for your good wishes. I still hope that within 1 month I can paint again.
@Pam: I feel with you. I know for a lot of people here painting means a lot, tough the reasons we started painting might be different but we all like it a lot. And if there are physical problems which prevent us from our hobby, it is really sad.
