My Friday afternoon painting. I like to create light and shadow contrast with watercolors. It is so easy with them.
Only 4 colors have been used: ultramarine blue, yellow ochre, sepia and burnt sienna.
I am feeling more confident with them with every new picture I do. Here almost everything worked out as planned.
This is watercolors and ink on cotton paper 15 x 20 cm
Very pretty. <3

Wow! The shadows are all incredible. great sky. Love your lighting vs. shadow work lots!
Thanks Nancy. The shadows are one of the nicest things to make with watercolors.
Tom, I'm going to follow Paul Clark's free instructional videos for a while to learn the basics and paint his paintings. He is in Sussex sth England, runs group face-to-face painting groups as well as painting tours where they spend a lot of time doing Plein Air, and importantly has nearly 170 free instructional videos on tube. I have some Christmas present oils to finish off in the next 3 weeks as well as a few days visiting family; so won't be getting into WCs in a meaningful way into close to Christmas. My e-mail address is in my TIB Profile if you would like to keep in touch 1 to 1 on this.
Thanks Dave. I will check that further.
