I love how Bill plays with light in that one. It might be my favorite seascape tutorial I have yet painted.
I need to say that this is not a painting for the very beginners, you should have at least painted a few seascapes with oils.
I am sure I will paint this again some day as I feel I can make it better as here. Nevertheless I am not unhappy with the outcome and I would recommend this episode (60 minute tutorial) to anybody who loves to paint seascapes and who loves to play with light and shadows.
Bill often says you are the leader of light and you can decide how powerful it is: And always you have to make it dark around so the light appears stronger.
These are lessons I learned from him and I am a fanatic for such paintings with a strong light/dark contrast.
This is oils on canvas panel 20 x 28 in (50 x 70 cm)
Many thanks Dirk. This is really a nice one to do:)
Very powerful seascape Tom! Gorgeous!!!
Bill has his signature sky where you just know who was the master mind behind that painting! Surely does complex to paint.
Many thanks Nancy. If you search for a challenge this would be one😀
Looks great! I did this one when I first started painting not knowing any better and it made such a mess but it was really fun the way he does it.
Thank you Thommy. Wow it is very brave to paint this as a first one! 😮
Wonderful work Tom! Fire in that color!
Thanks a lot Brian. Bill is showing some colorful skies.
Magnifique!
Thank you Pam.
