Back to my roots… watercolors. I did several paintings recently with the line and wash technique.
This one has been done today after a tutorial by Nil Rocha, one of my favorite artists. If you want to learn this technique, used by urban sketchers as well, please check out his YouTube channel.
I personally like those little pictures, showing a lot of details. Often there are some whimsical buildings, people etc, which are shown there.
I do not share those paintings very often, but I will not be able to paint a lot of oil pictures in the near future.
Here I tried a new paper, Arches 300 grams rough surface. I really love this paper. It works very well.
I hope you enjoy the work.
This is watercolors and ink on paper, postcard size.
Really nice work and the old man out front is awesome. ✌️
Love this one...love the line and wash technique!
Excellent work!
I always love your watercolors! Terrific tree and scene.
Wonderful!
Nil is one of my fav too! This is so good that I could totally believe that it is from Nil himself. Super work Tom!
Thank you Dirk, I am glad you like it.
Thanks Brian, I am glad you like the old guy. I am not very good in drawing figures :)
Thank you Sandy, I think a lot of these line and wash pics will follow :)
Thank you Cold for your support as always.
Thanks Pam. As mentioned above a lot of watercolors might follow yet.
Thank you Kerri.
Many thanks Nancy. I am glad you like it. I have done much more watercolors than oils in the past. And I will do them again. I like those small pictures. Though I always regret that I do not have enough time to create my own pictures.
