This is a painting is done after an original piece by Bill which I have seen online. I fell in love with the scene right from the beginning and immediately wanted to paint it.
Color choices are totally free, and chosen how I saw them. The outcome is one of my favorite paintings I ever did with oils. Thus I will hang this up for myself.
The picture has been painted in 50 minutes.
Oils on canvas panel 16 x 24 in (40 x 60 cm)
Hello Dirk, thanks for looking into my painting. This was the same color as above, but due to the dragging of the brush to create reflection it mixed up with the yellow and made it look a bit greener. But I am totally ok with it, I do not aim for photo realism. I find this has more character.
This is a wonderful painting Tom.
Thank you Tomi!
Beautiful Tom!
This absolutely stunning. Your trees look so realistic and Iβm in love with this sky!
So pretty! Wonderful variety of color, and excellent depth.
excellent sky, love the barn. I admire your painting philosophy and it is helping me reflect on my own, cheers!
Very nice and cute painting with that lovely house!
Yes I like this one Tom, your sky is really very good and the mix of trees is perfect π
Beautiful colours Tom. So tranquil.
Fantastic Bill trees Tom and I love that sky!
That is such a beautiful picture.π
I looked up this work by Bill Sr. Yours is true to the original Bill Jr.
Thank you Nancy,
Thanks a lot Lc, glad you like it.
Thank you Pam. I wanted to have something in odd colors. Nothing for purists, lol.
Thank you Jeff. Well my philosophy is that I have a very busy and complex job, two small kids, house and garden and no romantic dream to become an artist. I do painting to relax myself especially after a tough work week. And here I have to say I use the philosophy of Bill to create paintings in several minutes for which others spend days or weeks. They might not look that detailed but this is fine for me.
Thank you Jos.
Thank you Niv, I am glad you like it!
Thank you Colin. BTW: I am afraid I won't be able to meet the deadline for the event. In case I will find some time for painting a specific scene I will post it here and you can use it although it is not part of the event.
Thank you Brian. Sky is a mixture of the yellows (Cad and indian) with a bit of orange and red here and there. Then clouds have been done over it with purple made of the most used color combination prussian blue and alizarin crimson.
Thank you so much Daddio!
Thank you Tomi. Although it shouldn't be an exact copy I tried to keep the mood Bill created.

Very nice, Tom. I think the blue / green of the tree, on the right side and the reflection is a bit too strong, but that's subjective. Great workππΌπ©πͺπ¦πΉ
