An other Bill Alexander recreation I did during the winter.
A really nice episode with a misty/foggy landscape and a big tree in the front. Very peaceful scene and one of the favorites of my wife.
Rather easy to paint only thing which is a bit tricky is the layering of the background. As it uses Prussian blue - which is really a strong color - it can easily happen that a layer is too dark very rapidly. Then creating dept might be tough.
I personally like the almost monochromatic background and I like misty landscape paintings.
This is oils on canvas panel 16 x 24 in (40 x 60 cm)
Good one Tom!
I really like your evergreens.
Thanks a lot Dirk, I hope Bill would like it :)
Thanks a lot Titia, Bill makes the trees different than Bob does. To me his method was a bit more complex but the outcome looks more realistic sometimes I feel.
This one looks so real! I love the mystery atmosphere in your painting. The monochrome bg with that colored left foreground make such a great effect! Great job Tom!
Gorgeous job! Love the misty feel of this one!
Many thanks Nancy, this one is really nice. Maybe you give it a try too. :)
Thanks a lot Sandy!

Thanks a lot Tony!
Very nice!
Thank you Coldethel!
Very nice Tom, I agree the most difficult part was the graduation in color.

Good morning Tom 😎You captured the foggy mood very well and the tree on the left is terrific. You would have made Bill proud 😎
