My usual Friday afternoon painting. My third one after a tutorial by Buck. I fell in love with this episode right from the beginning. It is so different from others I did yet.
Buck has some awesome tutorials. This is done on a dry acrylic painted canvas. The orange is acrylics only. The whole painting has some semi abstract feeling like the viewer needs to finish them with his imagination. Something totally new for me with oils.
I think the outcome is not too bad.
Oils and acrylics on canvas panel 16 x 20 in. (40 x 50 cm)
Very nice. It looks real.

Many thanks abha!
Thanks Jos. Inspired you?๐
Thanks Niv. Yes it is a very atmospheric one. I am yet to discover Buck.
Thank you Tomi for your support!
Thanks a lot Dirk. Had this on my list since longer.
Thanks Titia. The intense sky color is from the acrylic underpainting, orange pur.
Thank you Sandy.
Thank you Nancy. As I said to Brian if I say not too bad then it means I am really happy.
Gorgeous Tom! You did a fantastic job with this one! I also have this on my list for this year. Buck uses an interesting techniques here with the paper towel on his brush handles to scrape out the tree trunk on the big trees. I do not have orange acrylic but I have several reds and yellows. What did you use?
Thank you Pam. I had this on my list for long time too. Buck has definitely a totally different approach. But it works well. I didnโt face any issues.
I had a tube of orange in stock. A very cheap one which was really watery. So I had to use a thick layer to get it right. On top I mixed a little vermillion into it and on the bottom of the sky a bit white to create depth. On the photo it isnโt really visible. For the red part I used vermilion. Here I had a quality product.
