This was really a tough one. From my subjective experience I think it is in the top three of the toughest paintings I did so far.
Bill makes it look so easy but I felt like I struggled the whole time. Nevertheless I try to finish the paintings from the book βThe Art of Bill Alexander and Lowell Spears, Series 1β (only the Bill episodes) and thus I had to do this as well.
The picture gives you practice in painting mountains with the knife and in creating depth by layers and layers.
Again I am happy that I gave this one a try even I was a bit afraid of it before.
This is oils on canvas panel 16 x 20 inches (40 x 50 cm)
This is fantastic and I agree π― with Jeff πβοΈ
Thank you Jeff and Brian. I am glad you enjoyed it!
Spectacular painting!
Looks absolutely freezing cold. Great lighting.
Thank you Jos and Landscapepainter! @Jos: maybe this episode is something for you as well? There is a video on the Alexander Art channel on YouTube.
So fabulous and also agree with Jeff!
I think this is spectacular, especially your foreground rocks.
Excellent!
Super schΓΆne tiefe , toll gemalt . Sicherlich eins der schwersten ππΌπ©πͺ
Thank you Sandy, Kerri, Cold and Dirk.
@Dirk: yes I also think this is one of the most complex ones by Bill.

the depth is super effective, I immediately got a feeling of 3D from each of the rock faces. Also, great photograph.
