Woodland Peace - Nic Hankins

"Woodland Peace"
August 03, 2024
Oil on canvas
40x60cm

One of the paintings that Bob had prepared for season 32 of "The Joy of Painting", but he has never been able to film it himself.
Nic Hankins did the honour of completing season 32, including his versions of the paintings that Bob had already prepared.

Since I can't watch PBS over here I went by the image Ninoum once posted (of Bob's version of the painting) and the video by Shadowlink, from when she streamed it on Twitch.

I painted this live at an outdoor art fair.

The second photo shows our tent: on the left (including the table) my stuff, and my mom's paintings on the right.

You captured this beautifully! I look forward to trying this one too next month in a CRI led art class. Looks like a lot of gorgeous art there in your tent at the fair!

Very nice

stunning version of this one by you, and your booth looks so inviting! Lovely to see paintings I recognize hanging there. Is it spendy to have a booth at an art fair? I've thought about setting up at my local fair some day, but not sure about the cost involved.

Thank you all! <3

@Jeff:
It was 50 Euro's to have the tent, if I remember correctly.
Not exactly cheap, but since this is in our old neighbourhood (We moved to that village when I was 11 and my parents lived there for 34 years) I'm fine with it.
I don't expect to earn my money back to be honest. People who visit these local fairs usually think paintings are too expensive. They just come and watch.
However... I've also been asked several times if I do workshops. πŸ‘Which I intend to do.
Right now I'm in the middle of moving my painting studio downstairs and the livingroom upstairs so I have a handful of people come over for workshops. And I want to do workshops on location, like for staff outings or family outings. It's what a CRI I know does.

thanks for the answer! That sounds like our art fair customers, too. Originals price out many. I imagine prints may sell more bc they're cheaper, but I haven't figured out how to get those made.

Super! πŸ€™

@Jeff:
I had some business cards and some postcards printed last year.
An online service, and they also have all sorts of stuff that they can print, like mugs, flyers, car magnets. I'm sure they can print posters or even on canvas as well.
Worth checking out what is available in your area.

Thank you Matt. <3

LadyGalaga Shadowlink11

turned out great!!!

Beautiful!

Lovely painting Titia, cheers

Thank you, Shadowlink, Lc and DaveJ! <3

Excellent painting! The bark, the little lower branches, everything looks so great, I especially love how the light passes behind that second tree from the right.
