Sunlit Rain Clouds

TitiaD 17 Oct 2026

"Sunlit Rain clouds"
August 15, 2026
Oil on canvas
40x60 cm

Based on a photograph I took this past summer, in Ingolstadt, Germany.

It started on a black canvas and then I used the Bob Ross techniques.

For those interested:
Clouds were done with the 1-inch and fan brush.
Far away trees with the oval brush, tree trunks with the knife, top of the wheat and the gravel path wwere done with the 1-inch.
Grasses with the fanbrush (lightly tapping holding it vertically) and the large tree in the middle was painted using the filbert brush, to get those smaller clumps of foliage.

Beautiful Titia! Great perspective, colors, n composition.

Everything about this is amazing.

This is a wonderful painting! I especially like how you rotated the brush to make the foliage radiate outwards in the front tree, and how the wheat stands up and has layers. Quite lovely. Great job!

such a beautiful light in this painting! the contrasts are fantastic, I love it, very inspiring!

Beautiful painting, but that's no surprise coming from you!

Thank you all for the compliments!

@LPM:
That's how the tree was in the photograph, so I wanted to replicate that somehow and the filbert brush turnd otu to be the solution. It is basically a small oval brush after all.

What a beautiful painting! Thank you for providing the details as well. So great to look at.

I love the feel of this painting!! Beautiful work!!
