Oil on canvas
50x70cm

For this one I followed a Nic Hankins tutorial on youtube.
It is a perfect one for practicing evergreens and "lacy bushes with 1-inch brush".

It is the first time I seriously tried the "lacy bushes with 1-inch brush" and I ended up with a blob here and there, but I am becoming more confident with them now. Need some more practice but this was a good start in my opinion.

I had too much room left at the bottom so I gave my stream another turn.

It has a black gesso underpainting which still shows through, in the form of those foggy distant evergreens..

This is very nice!

outstanding execution of this scene, I really like the cliffs and rocky banks, and the way everything pops with that black canvas showing through.

Thank you DBerky and Jeff. <3

It’s beautiful. It is funny how you had room left over at the bottom because I always run out of room.

Thank you Coldethel!

I hardly ever have problems making a scene fit.
So this was weird for me and at first I didn't really know how to fix it. Like, add more rocks, grass and bushes at the bottom, or make the stream turn again, or...
And with it making another turn I figured I needed extra steps going down.

Really nice and good details.

I really like this painting…it pops!

Super painting, beautiful water and great depth 👍✌️

@KerriG:
Good idea! I'd love to go as well.

Great work on this, Titia! After seeing your work, I watched Nic's excellent tutorial from start to finish. Agree that you executed and improvised well!

Titia you should bring this painting with you when you go to CRI and they can just certify you after they see it. This is what they are looking for I think. 👍✌️

@ jlstutz98
Thank you!
Yes, it is a great tutorial. He explains it all very well.

@ Cronenberg
Thank you!
That would certainly save me a lot of money! LOL!
I'm really looking forward to the Fundamentals week.
