Following tutorials from Michael James Smith. I really like his painting style. I like the outcome, but my big mistake in this one is don't sketch to thick and is still shining through.
Very lovely! I used to follow Gary Jenkins, no sketching involved and he shows you how to create petals that are almost transparent, he's worth a watch.

Beautiful work, Ted. I love the shadows and the subtle tones in the flowers. I like MJS too and have learned a lot from his tutorials. Try sketching in water colour pencils. You can use the appropriate colours and they wash off very easily if they need to be removed.
