Investigation on how to create static composition. Unsuccessful attempt. Working on the other piece. Hopefully the other one will be accepted by the instructor.
Hi Jeffth, yes. Because of the patterns I selected it became dynamic. Instructor said by concept it is static, but patterns make it move.
Regarding usability in the landscape. One of the artists I follow said if you get stuck with something in your area switch to different one (landscapes to humans, etc) this will help you to get unstuck by acquiring new knowledge and new skills. Thus I firmly believe that it will make my landscapes stronger and will push me to compose better.

I really like the way this looks! What made it unsuccessful? Was it considered dynamic composition rather than static? Very interesting, do you think the experience you gain from this will translate to landscape compositions?
