This is our third painting date with Voy Kay. We had selected this topic few months ago and even design was inspired by Kevin Hill we went on our own after brewing designs in our heads. Very nice time spent together, a lot of improvising and great results! Thank you very much Voy for your time and patience waiting for me to catch up! It was a pleasure painting with you!
Ahhh you folks have the right idea..The Tuscan sun is love in the sky!
I love this! Distance and shadow is realistic, and the colors work so well together.
@Pietro - thank you very much! Hope one day I will get to there to try many wonderful wines!
@ForestVue - thank you very much, my plan was to have blue and orange as contrast colors to enforce each other.
Love the light shining through the archways on this one! I purchased the full kevin hill tutorial on this one but I have yet to tackle it as it seems like a difficult one! You and Voy did a great job putting your own spin on this one!
@Voy - you are such a wonderful friend! Thank you for spending time together!
@Lzicchinella - thank you! I am happy you like the light. It was a challenge. Fun thing when my mom took a picture of me holding this piece I front. This is 18 by 24 inches. My head above the canvas and canvas covers pretty much all my body. Light was coming from my back and it got a funny visual effect, that there is a archway in my body and light shines through me.
Beautiful! As always I love your attention to detail - like the shadow for the arch. Many are tempted to draw/paint them with a smooth curve for every shadow but you took into account the bumps from the stone edges. Those little details add to the realism and makes a painting stand out to me.
Lilikins thank you for your kind words! I did not think about shadow very much, this uneven line happened when I tried to marry light and shadow while trying to keep land more or less horizontal. I gave myself a challenge to use only big brushes. But for distant view anyway I had to switch to the liner. I think big brush in the foreground gave me some freedom.
Tom, thanks a lot for your words! I was wondering if I need to continue working on it and add more various brush marks to make it more impressionistic.
Good idea! I like it. When painting is dry it is not a problem at all to add details. I am thinking to improve the sky as well.
Excellent painting. Honestly, I'd live there. I brew beer and wine and mead, and would love to live on a vineyard.
Thank you Lighsnow, I would love to make wine too and live somewhere in a wine region! Glad you like the painting!

This is an awesome creation Sunnylady!
SO HAPPY we got the great idea to paint this Tuscany scenery! You chose well to focus on a sunny day for the mood and atmosphere.
Those stones in line right in front of the vineyard are ABSOLUTE winners! They throw that vineyard a few feet downwards, wich is often the case with such yards where the adjacent building is right next to it!! Such depth created by some simple stones added! The colouring is magnificent, you really brought the sun in and I so much love the idea that we both had our own different version of the same creation/idea!
Thank you my blessed friend, I had a GREAT morning spent with you! A true treasure!
