Jin, thank you very much for your kind words. Highlights were quite difficult. I had to apply final ones when painting dried as well as to add darks. If brush gets contaminated with white without proper washing or is difficult to get back to the dark values.
Tom, thanks, this was a test to my color mixing especially for all the greens. I still struggle with them. But I think I am getting the concept. Surely there are things to improve here in terms of aerial perspective. More practice is required.
Another stunning painting Sunnylady! The way you captured AND maintained that (high)lighting is exemplary! Very nice depth created and above all, such harmony on the colours. I absolutely love this one! An A+++ painting!
It is not necessary to finish the painting in a short time, or if necessary, it takes a long time to do. Originally, oil painting would be like that.
Voy thank you dear friend. Highlights were pain in the beginning. But when it dried it became easier to do. I did not use retouch varnish I dont have it. I applied wet on dry. I wonder how long it will survive as paper is very flexible.
Just love this one. I can feel the sun on the bark near evening time.
Oh, this is just wonderful @SunnyLady. The confident brushstrokes in the foreground highlights add such warmth and compliment the beautiful lighting on the tree. You are onto something here! Great work!
