Acrylics on canvas pad. Size A4. Pink underpainting. No ultramarine this time.
Sun changes so quick and so difficult to catch it. But I believe that for tropical greens phtalo blue creates better temperature shift to create a bigger variety of greens.
Fantastic palm leaves.
Thanks Dave! I have never really looked at palms so closely as this time. They had cad yellow medium leaves. I did not have this color with me unfortunately. That was my struggle and cad yellow light hue - was not resolving my greens.
Anyway I learnt a lot from these sketches. ❤️❤️❤️
The pthalo has added a lot to this Sunny. I can't think of anything more difficult than creating a painting using mostly variations of one colour. I'd be mixing mud. I would have just used a double loaded filbert on the trunks but it looks like you've worked on these. Great job.
Thanks a lot @ landscapepainter.
It was challenging indeed. This was/is the main reason why I am not doing Plein air in the tropics.
I am glad that I was able to resolve to some degree and convince myself it is a nice challenge to have.

I like this painting because the palm trees and colour within them look more natural to me. Great painting Sunnylady. Cheers
