Tutorial after D. Roza. This one was a challenge as I did not have right tools, but still tried to mimic effects.
Stones seem to be out of place according to my home critic. I suspected that when I painted, but somehow lighter version did not work. Probably it needs a different color ?
@Kaylee- thanks for posting your version, it was inspiring with all that freedom you have in yours!
Oil on canvas paper sheet, size is A3.
Sunnylady, this is a beautiful sunset across the water that you have painted. So very realistic.
Shadow and light work are unbeatable!
All those different shades and hues are in complete harmony!
How long have you orked on this one?
Wow, beautiful sky and great control of the light across the water. Perhaps the rocks could have softer edges and would be better with some more of the orange tones from the beach?
How beautyful this one is again Sunnylady.
@Kylee - thank you very much! I tried to make it smoother but tried to give it free brush strokes nature like in yours, and it turns out this is not easy to let things happen.
@Dave - Thank you! I appreciate your feedback and glad that color work turned to be looking real.
@Voy - Shadows were the most difficult part in it due to going first with light color on background and to add darks on top was a challenge. I did not time up, but I think like around 3 hours. I had way too many breaks. I started at 7-30 AM and finished at 11-30, but i had tea, brunch, music and dance breaks. So I guess like 3 hours is about right.
@rah - thanks! I will try to edit in Photo editor to see about shore color. I was stuck with the thought it is a counter light condition, and it did not allow me to get in a lighter color. Thanks for the idea!
@Hado - thank you dear Hado!
Wow that is just gorgeous!! Great job!!
what an awesome painting!!!! You nailed it. Every component of the painting works well. The waves, the reflections, the sky is amazing
Simply beautiful! Love it all!
Wow!! What warmth and beauty!
Your painting makes my heart smile. Everything about it works, even the rocks - they feel right. Well done.
@DBerkey, @ MHK, @paintingblondie, @parksd02, @jonezy - thank you folks for looking at it and for your kind words and support!
Incredible!
Absolutely beautiful! The use of the golden yellows are excellent, drawing one out to the distant sea.
So beautiful!!
@Antonia, @flippergirl - thank you very much!
@ForestVueGallery - It is easy to create that golden color Cadmium yellow, touch of orange and burnt sienna, but to make it shine as gold you need to have a dark value around it and keep area quite small. The more golden area spreads the less shiny it is.
I love it ! Awesome light on the waves very realistic Yes have to have the dark for light to be bright. The sky is a success.. Lots of depth in the painting.
@patriziad - thank you very much!
I love the colours!
@Nkav thank you so very much.
