Is there life?

Hi Sunnylady, your tree has a form that is not that dissimilar to the Bottle Trees we have in central Queensland and sometimes the Baobab tree (a different species) in the Kimberley region of NW Western Australia; the latter also occurring in Madagascar and Africa I believe. So your painting immediately reminded me of western Qld where I lived and worked for many years. Love it.

Thank you Dave! Yes, it is a baobab/bottle tree which I used as basis. I only messed up the colors. The reason behind I feel that this is somewhat that can be referred as Tree of Life. I guess some cultures actually do. I wish I could visit Australia for couple of months to investigate nature there at least a little bit.

Indeed a Baobab, mostly found in Southern Africa and they can be giantesque.
You did wonders with shading of the tree, as for the leaves and the rocks! Behold, a new and distant planet is born!!

Dave, I goggled about these trees, they are amazing! the shapes are fantastic. I even found a photo with the red flowers! This was purely wild guess of mine! Now I want to come to Australia even more!

@Barbara - thanks! It is that rare time when I actually thought about color choices. I wanted it to be more purple, but since I do not have Violet pigment (PV23), I mixed blue and red and it made it calmer. Aha i just realized (thanks to your feedback!) that ultramarine would be able to give me more vibrant purple!

Gorgeous!! I love the colors!! Gives it a very first season star trek vibe,,which I loved by the way,feel to it!
