This is a third version of beloved painting Honey Bliss after tutorial by Dmitry Roza.
This is intended as a present to my dear friend as it represents some of her favorite color. I hope she will like it in person.
It is alla prima. But with touch ups on dried version as glazing to fix some missed values.
Total time is around 6-7 hours
VERY NICE SUNNY.GREAT GIFT!

@paintingblondie, @Pietro1963, @tel - thanks a lot folks! She loved the photo I sent to her!
Amazing that sky sunlight the boat and reflections! Really wonderful!
This is fantastic- does he have English versions of his lessons?
Hi MHK- no he does not. But if you know the colors and watch closely you can follow through.
Would very much appreciated that thank you
Wow! So beautiful Sunnylady!
Beautiful! I’m sure your friend will love it!
@MHK, @Cronenberg89, @Lilikins - thank you so very much for your continuous support!
I must throw my 5 cents worth in on this. Beautiful. The colors, sky, clouds, waves...all great. And the shading on those sails and the boat are perfect. What a gift! She'll love it.
Regards.
Tom, I did the same yesterday and my pick is version 1 as well! exactly because of the same reason, it is more subdued in colors and sky is progressing to red purple creating rather hazy atmosphere! Thanks a lot for checking this! I appreciate it a lot!
@Tom, I feel that when you go with repeats it becomes crispier on details rather than on the mood in the painting. Have you experienced anything like this?
I showed your water colors in line and wash to my friend and she was astonished as she only saw loose watercolors before that in life and she did not like that medium at all. So yes, i totally see how approach in one medium can be transferred to all the others in artist works. I think it is logical to move into direction that satisfied you as an artist the most, however I had this argument within my head as i love the impressionists but i also like realism. So to come up with something that would merge both is a challenge and i do not think I resolved it. But is started finding pleasure in less details which i did not think even would ever happen.
Absolutely gorgeous Sunnylady!! I reviewed all 3 versions as well and I am going to have to to this one (#1 was a close runner up). I think I am just partial to the gold in this version. I also prefer the size/angle of the ship itself. For a bit more depth (you achieved with the purples in #1) I wish there was more deep blue in the upper left and bottom left. Overall so lovely!
Thanks Filppergirl! I wish I reviewed the first two before I started the third version. But I was concentrating on getting my friend’s favorite color and did not think well about transition to the darker sky. Live and learn as they say. 😂 thanks a lot for checking all three and selecting your favorite!
