Subject is the “city”. Only geometrical shapes. Only black, white and red. A3 size. Acrylics on the canvas.
What do you think? Is it dynamic? Where is the focus point?
This is great Sunny. Focus point I guess should be the vehicle simply because it's red, but I can't take my eyes off that squared wall panel on the left because it is so neat and pleasing.
I admire your work and dedication to study. This is a great exercise :)
Personally, my eye was first drawn to the large dark shape on the left (the closest 'tree' or 'sign') and then the red vehicle after. Maybe that's just due to reading left to right. In my layperson's opinion, the red vehicle may be too similar in size to the dark shapes. I'm not confident in my answer though, and I'm curious to hear what other more trained artists think about it. I've certainly been staring at this for a while, so the dynamics are working well!
Thanks Folks! Let’s wait for more feedback.
For me it's the trees. I think it is because there is no atmospheric perspective in the value of the trees that are further away, so they read very strong.
But I'm red green colorblind, so the red vehicle is probably a stronger focus for people with normal vision.
