Yay! After 6 months without oil painting I finally got back to it. This was an old simple acrylic painting which was done in 2016 at wine and paint class. I thought it had good potential and kept it. So now 7 years later I transformed it into oil painting. I fixed few issues and it was a nice and relaxing rework!
16*20 inches, oil on canvas.
I certainly got rusty with oil paint handling!
Thanks for sharing your feelings! I am glad it turned out to have calm mood as I used knife for the waves.
That's really nice. Well captured the mood. Good work😎
This turned out nicely, great shadows and highlights.
It’s a good idea to rework an older painting. I should look through the stacks of old paintings and do the same or get rid of them.
Pretty
That’s super nice SunnyLady!
@FVG - yes, this is great thing to reuse as it has a nice layer of paint on it that makes oil handling a bit easier.
On the other side I did not inspect painting before applying oil and totally missed it had some texture. So I had to put the grass pretty much as it was without correcting it. If I sanded those elevated areas I would add some wind/motion into the grass and it would not look like dancing cobras.
@coldethel, @ninoum - thank you folks!
Ah Sunnylady, welcome back to the wonderful world of oils. Your painting looks great. A lovely place to sit and relax and take in the wonderful;l view of nature. Cheers
@Dave - thanks a lot Dave! So happy the painting gives relaxing feeling. I think this is what allowed it to be preserved for so long and to be upgraded to more noble materials.
